Last Sunday, the Ringallee outdoor pool closed its doors for the year. Stadtwerke Gießen can look back on a positive 2016 season: almost 111,000 visitors took advantage of the beautiful weather to enjoy the cool water and sunshine. After a week's extension, the 2016 swimming season at Stadtwerke Gießen's (SWG) Ringallee outdoor pool is now over. The pool opened for the last time this year on Sunday 18 September. As with SWG's two smaller outdoor pools in Kleinlinden and Lützellinden, the results for Ringallee were very positive: Almost 111,000 bathers - over 20,000 more than in the 2015 season - took advantage of the beautiful summer days this year to swim, splash around and lie in the sun. The hot temperatures in August and September in particular once again attracted numerous bathers - 60,000 people flocked to the outdoor pool in the last seven weeks alone. Uwe Volbrecht, Head of Swimming Pools at SWG, is very satisfied: "Summer 2016 was a long time coming, but then showed its best side. That's why we extended the outdoor pool season in Ringallee by a week. This means we have 133 successful opening days this year." The pools in Kleinlinden and Lützellinden were each open for 86 days. SWG counted 10,560 visitors in Kleinlinden and 13,545 in Lützellinden. August was also the month with the most bathers for both. Information on the opening times and prices of the SWG pools is available from the service telephone on 0641 708-1411 and on the Stadtwerke Gießen website at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de/baeder.
