The SWG lecture series "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" will focus on the topic of heat pumps on 31 October.

Electric heat pumps are regarded as the heating system of the future. But before deciding in favour of such a unit, homeowners should clarify a few questions. The upcoming lecture in the "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" series offers an initial approach to this: on 31 October, an expert from Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) will take an in-depth look at the topic of heat pumps.

Understandable for laypeople

To get to grips with this complex subject, the SWG specialist will start by explaining how a heat pump works. But don't worry - you don't need a degree in physics to follow the explanations. "This brief digression is important to understand what requirements need to be met for the technology to work efficiently. Because that's basically what it's all about," explains Moritz Müller, energy consultant at SWG, adding: "In this presentation, we want to debunk some of the myths that still surround the topic of heat pumps and replace them with reliable facts." For example, heat pumps can also be operated effectively without underfloor or wall heating. The requirements for this are explained in detail.

Other aspects

Of course, the SWG specialist also discusses the different types of heat pumps in his presentation. He will analyse the advantages and disadvantages and derive the sensible application options for the different variants. Last but not least, the presentation will look at the combination of heat pumps and photovoltaic systems.

Conveniently from home
The "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" lecture series is an online format. Nevertheless, there is of course the opportunity to ask questions on the topic. If you would like to watch the "Heat pump" lecture on Tuesday 31 October at 17:30, please register by 29 October at energieberatung@stadtwerke-giessen.de. All participants will receive a link to the event on 30 October.
