In the presence of the Mayor of Biebertal, Thomas Bender, the Chairman of the Förderverein Sozialstation Biebertal, Helmut Bechlinger, accepted a donation of 300 euros from Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG) with a heartfelt thank you. It was a particular pleasure for Ina Weller, Head of Marketing at SWG, to be able to present the donation to the social centre. "At a time when money is in short supply in every organisation and institution, it is particularly important for a company like Stadtwerke not to use money according to the watering can principle. This donation directly benefits people who are in need of help and that is important to us," explained Weller. The Biebertal social centre offers people a complete range of social services: From care at home to inpatient care and political work.
Thanks to SG Grün-Weiß Vetzberg
Special thanks also went to SG Grün-Weiß Vetzberg for organising the SWG Cup final. The head of the football department, Holger Waldschmidt, and his 40-strong team organised this year's SWG Cup match day at the sports ground in Rodheim and raised 300 euros for the Biebertal social care centre with their commitment. The Vetzberg team provided good entertainment and catering for the visitors, and more than 400 spectators came to Rodheim to watch the matches between the four best teams in the district cup. In the final, TSV Grünberg prevailed against FSV Steinbach and lifted the trophy.
Outlook
Stadtwerke Gießen will be organising the SWG Cup again next year and will be looking for the 2006/2007 cup winner. It has not yet been decided which club will host next year's final. As soon as the organiser has been decided, the Stadtwerke will provide information.
