On Monday, 15 February, Stadtwerke Gießen and the organisers of the Tour of Hope presented the main winners of the "Extra Chance" prize draw with their prizes. They are delighted to receive free "Giessen green electricity".

Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) has been supporting the Tour of Hope since 1995. Every year, the cycle tour campaigns for the fight against cancer and collects donations throughout Germany - more than 30 million euros in the history of the tour. Countless celebrities from the worlds of politics, entertainment and business have already got on their bikes to pedal for this good cause.
All those who take part in the "Extra Chance" competition, which SWG has launched, are also making a contribution. The company is selling raffle tickets at the customer centre on the market square and at events where SWG has a stand. All proceeds go to the charity tour. In 2015, almost 18,000 of the raffle tickets were given away in return for a donation. On Monday 15 February, the three main winners received their prizes.

Every contribution helps in the fight against cancer
Gerhard Becker, Head of Organisation of the Tour of Hope, Thomas Wagner from the organisation team and Professor Dieter Körholz from the Tour's Medical Board of Trustees thanked all donors and ticket buyers: "Every form of commitment that people make to our fight against cancer helps - no matter how big the contribution is. With the donations collected to date, we have already achieved a great deal and made progress in cancer research."
SWG company spokesperson Ina Weller and Stephanie Orlik, Marketing Services & Sponsoring at SWG, presented the prizes to the three main winners together with the tour organisers: Ina Gerlach from Gießen received a voucher for 5000 kilowatt hours (kWh) of "Gießener Grünstrom", Karin Hölscher from Allendorf/Lumda a voucher for 3500 kWh of "Gießener Grünstrom" and Sigrid Hölzing from Staufenberg a voucher for 2000 kWh of "Gießener Grünstrom".
Ina Weller congratulated them and explained: "Anyone who went away empty-handed and is not here today can still call themselves a winner. Because every ticket buyer has helped the good cause." Stephanie Orlik announced that there will be another chance to do so in 2016: "We're going into a new round with the 'extra chance'. So keep your eyes peeled where we have a stand at events or simply come to the customer centre. The raffle tickets are available there from March to October."
