In a classic car convoy to Golden Oldies

On Sunday, numerous owners and enthusiasts of classic cars gathered on the premises of Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG). The reason for the meeting was the planned classic car convoy from Giessen to Wettenberg/Krofdorf-Gleiberg.

Shortly after 10 a.m., the convoy of around 20 classic cars set off for the 19th Golden Oldies Festival. The convoy was led by the Mayor of Wettenberg, Gerhard Schmidt, accompanied by the Chairman of the Board of SWG Manfred Siekmann and his wife Birgit. They headed for Wettenberg in a Mercedes Benz 170 S Cabrio B from 1950. The collector's item belongs to Frank Werner from Linden.

This was the sixth time that the classic car convoy had been organised by the energy supplier for the traditional festival. The classic car owners gladly accepted the invitation to a classic car breakfast followed by a convoy to Wettenberg. Numerous guests took the opportunity to view a small selection of the cars at SWG. A television team from the Kabel 1 channel was also present, with the Giessen caterer Doppelsteff and its managing director Stefan Herzog at the centre of their filming.

The classic car convoy set off on the last day of the three-day festival in Wettenberg. This year's traditional event was held under the motto: "Family, progress and souvenirs."
