There were happy faces to be seen yesterday at Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). No wonder. Manfred Siekmann, CEO of SWG, and Gerhard Becker, Head of Organisation of the Tour of Hope, congratulated nine out of ten winners of the SWG additional raffle of last year's Tour of Hope tombola.
Klaus Bernhardt-Wrede from Giessen is now the proud owner of a trekking bike worth 800 euros. The second prize, a Canon digital camera, was won by Erika Schäffer from Giessen. The balloon flight for two also goes to a Giessen resident, Paul Gödde. Dieter Anton from Linden also won a balloon flight. The winners of places five to ten each received a sparkling water maker from the infoCentre's wide range of flavours and PET bottles.
The winners were:
Irmgard Felsing from Grünberg
Thomas Jähn from Staufenberg
Brunhilde Dürr from Gießen
Marco Braune from Pohlheim
Inge Henkel from Rabenau
Florentine Dessauer from Lützellinden
Siekmann and Becker presented the prizes to their new owners.
Last year, the Tour of Hope cyclists raised over 780 thousand euros through raffle ticket sales and numerous donations. Stadtwerke has also been a partner of the Tour of Hope for over eight years and supports the annual tour's goodwill campaign. Last year, Stadtwerke offered ticket buyers an additional opportunity. Those who bought their tickets at events organised by the Giessen-based energy supplier or at the SWG infoCentre were entered into the additional prize draw organised by Stadtwerke, as were the ten winners.
