Giessen pools adjust prices
From 1 April, new admission prices will apply at Giessen's swimming pools.
Giessen's swimming pools fulfil an important social function and are therefore a central component of public services. Nevertheless, it is of course important to keep an eye on the costs incurred for their operation. For this reason, those responsible at the Giessen pools check every two years how consumer prices have developed in Germany. They use the Federal Statistical Office's consumer price index for this comparison. This showed a price increase of 2.6 per cent in December 2024. "We will increase the admission prices for our swimming pools by this rate from 1 April 2025," announces Uwe Volbrecht, Head of Giessen Pools. Of course, the increase may not be exactly 2.6 per cent. "To make it easier to collect, we have rounded up to ten cents in each case," adds Uwe Volbrecht.
In absolute figures, the price increase is moderate. A single ticket for adults in the Ringallee bathing centre, for example, will cost 5.30 euros instead of 5.20 euros in future. Children will also only have to pay ten cents more than before at 3.60 euros.
There will also be price adjustments for the wellness offers of the Giessen pools, i.e. sauna visits and massages. Here, the Giessen pools have been equally cautious in their calculations and have kept the increases within manageable limits: A ticket for a one-hour visit to the sauna, for example, will increase by 30 cents to 5.60 euros.
