Electricity from the roof: In its "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" lecture series, Stadtwerke Gießen will be providing information online on 27 August on the topic of private photovoltaic systems.
Covering your own electricity needs in an environmentally friendly and affordable way: climate change and rising energy costs make a photovoltaic system on the roof of your home a promising solution. "Every kilowatt hour that you generate and use yourself reduces your electricity bill," confirms Moritz Müller, energy consultant at Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). In the online lecture series "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" on 27 August, the expert will explain the conditions under which operating a solar system is economically viable - despite the drop in feed-in tariffs. Practical examples and information on the necessary formalities will complement his presentation.
Proportion of self-consumption is crucial
Whether a photovoltaic system pays off depends on how much of the generated electricity you use yourself. "The greater the proportion of electricity you use yourself, the quicker the investment pays for itself," explains Moritz Müller. In his presentation, the energy expert also discusses the possibility of using solar power for an electric car or to operate a heat pump - and shows which solutions SWG offers. "Whether e-roof, e-storage or e-box - we offer customised modules conveniently from a single source. With our solutions, you can achieve a good deal of independence and bring the energy transition into your own home," summarises Moritz Müller.
