When is a photovoltaic system worthwhile? In the online lecture series "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday", Stadtwerke Gießen will be providing information on the topic of solar power on 29 August.

Because significantly more electrical energy will be needed in the future - the keywords here are electromobility and heat pumps - it is important to build more systems that utilise renewable sources to generate electricity. Modern photovoltaic systems offer many homeowners the opportunity to actively participate in driving forward their personal energy transition and benefit financially from it. But as is so often the case, the devil is in the detail. A number of criteria need to be met for the scheme to work.

Getting to the bottom of the matter
Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) will be shedding light on the existing options and requirements in a lecture in the "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" series on 29 August. Energy consultant Moritz Müller will explain everything that interested parties should consider when making their decision. In addition to the structural situation - such as the orientation of the roof - the expert places an important focus on the potential self-utilisation of the solar power generated. This point ultimately determines whether investing in your own solar power plant is worthwhile. For a better understanding, Moritz Müller calculates practical examples and shows ways in which the proportion of self-utilisation can be increased - for example with the help of an electricity storage unit. He also explains how well a photovoltaic system and an electric vehicle complement each other.

Register now
The "Energy knowledge on Tuesday" lecture series is an online offer from the SWG energy advice centre. This means that interested parties can take part from the comfort of their own home. If you would like to watch the lecture "Photovoltaic power from the sun" on 29 August at 5:30 pm, please register informally by 27 August at energieberatung@stadtwerke-giessen.de. SWG will send out a link to access the lecture in good time. It goes without saying that you will be able to interact with the speaker in the same way as at a live event. Following his presentation, Moritz Müller will answer any questions that arise.
