Good news for gas and district heating customers of Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG): The prices for these energies will remain stable until the end of September 2006. "We are pleased that we can offer our household customers this price security throughout the summer. Although our gas purchase price rose again on 1 April, we intend to absorb this increase internally," says Manfred Siekmann, Chairman of the Board of Management of SWG.
Electricity prices will also remain unchanged for the time being
SWG's electricity customers can also look forward to unchanged prices for the time being. Neither the prices for the general tariff nor for the PowerPack Private electricity supply contract will be increased for the time being. Manfred Siekmann commented on the background to this decision: "The Hessian Ministry of Economics has put the application for a price increase for our general tariff on hold, citing an imminent decision on the level of grid utilisation fees. We have therefore decided to wait for this decision for our PowerPack Private electricity supply contract as well. After all, the price development of our electricity products must be harmonised. We expect a decision to be made in the course of May or June."
Stadtwerke recommends increasing the discounts
Even if there is no change to the price level, Stadtwerke still strongly recommends that all customers who heat with gas, district heating or electricity increase their instalments. Ina Weller, SWG company spokesperson: "We had a pretty cold winter this year. As a result, our customers had to heat more and for longer than last winter, for example. If these customers don't increase their instalments now, they could be in for a nasty surprise when they receive their next consumption bill. This applies in particular to customers whose billing roll is between May and December. We can recommend that they increase their monthly instalments by around 10%." SWG customers can call the service hotline on 0180 22 11 100 from Monday to Friday from 7.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. to have their budget billing adjusted. The Ordinance on the Supply of Tariff Customers (AVB) prohibits suppliers from automatically increasing the instalment amounts during a billing period if this action by the customer is required.
Convenient and reliable payment
All customers who have not given SWG direct debit authorisation but pay by bank transfer should always quote their full customer number when making payments. This ensures that SWG can allocate incoming payments immediately and without any problems. If you simply want to save yourself the stress of monthly bank transfers, you can also have your instalments or annual bills conveniently debited from your account. To do this, SWG requires the customer's direct debit authorisation. Customers can issue the direct debit authorisation online at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de or by calling 0180 22 11 100.
