Frost delays start of construction

The recently announced start of the work to cross Marburger Straße with district heating pipes has been postponed.

Due to the cold snap, Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) has had to postpone the start of the construction work to cross Marburger Straße, which was scheduled for the beginning of this week. In fact, the current low temperatures with ground frost do not permit the civil engineering work necessary for laying the district heating pipes. SWG will start work as soon as weather conditions with stable plus temperatures are foreseeable.

The good news is that those responsible at SWG still see a realistic chance of meeting the target completion date of the end of March. If the weather does not play ball and delays the start of construction to such an extent that the target cannot be met, SWG will of course provide information in good time.
