Free bus transport to the Giessen Culture Night

On Saturday, 16 May 2026, all bus journeys in fare zone 1501 are free.

Next Saturday, the city invites you to the second Giessen Culture Night. From 2 p.m. until late into the night, Giessen's cultural landscape will present itself with around 200 events at 63 locations - spread across the entire city. To ensure that visitors can get from event to event quickly and easily, local public transport is free of charge in the entire 1501 fare zone. In addition, lines 7, 10 and 17 run more frequently, especially in the late evening hours. The Saturn and Venus night bus routes will also be extended by two additional journeys each. Last but not least, there will be an "extra bus" that will run between the "Margaretenhütte" stop in Lahnstraße and "Automeile Süd" from around 2 p.m. to 1.15 a.m. and serve all stops along the route.

Due to the Giessen Culture Night, the street Reichensand will be closed on Friday, 15 May 2026, as well as on the following Saturday from 8 pm until the end of operations. For this reason, buses on routes 5 and 15 will have to be diverted from the "Liebigstraße" stop via Westanlage to the "Marktplatz" stop during these times. Due to this change in routing, the buses will not be able to call at the "Katharinengasse" stop. Instead, they will serve the "Bahnhofstraße" stop.

Further information on current bus diversions is available on 0641 708-1400, on the Internet at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de/verkehrshinweise or at the RMV Mobility Centre Giessen in the SWG Customer Centre on Marktplatz. Opening hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 6 pm. SWG can of course also be contacted by e-mail: mobizentrale@stadtwerke-giessen.de
