Talented kids train with Junior Football Academy Mittelhessen

Last Monday, the Junior Football Academy Mittelhessen (JFA), led by DFB A-licence coach Karl-Otto Mank, got the SWG holiday camp off to a successful start. 113 male and 12 female players gathered at the sports facility in Garbenteich for the start of the SWG holiday camp. Together with his fellow coach Thorsten Buß, Karl-Otto Mank took charge of the week-long training camp. 23 coaches, carers and helpers supported the coaching duo to provide the talented footballers with high-quality training.

Thorsten Buß, head of the Junior Football Academy Mittelhessen, put together a varied training programme for the young players for the holiday camp.

Train like the pros
The ambitious footballers completed the various sessions under the direction of the coaches and supervisors. The JFA offered a complete training programme ranging from coordination to technique. Learning new dribbling techniques and improving coordination were the focal points of the training week. Using training aids such as ball rebound nets, multi-kick balls and swing pendulum balls, the participants improved within a short space of time. The goalkeepers benefited from age-appropriate goalkeeper training. Throughout the training session, the coaches incorporated various games and forms of play so that the kids could quickly put what they had learnt into practice.

Success on the ball
In cooperation with SV Garbenteich, the football academy offered talented players the opportunity to take part in the DFB football badge. The younger participants were able to take a taster badge. For their successful participation, the kids received a kit consisting of a ball, certificate and the football badge in gold, silver or bronze.

Fun and ambition
The two coaches, Thorsten Buß and Karl-Otto Mank, have many years of experience in coaching and teach the kids the necessary ambition as well as having lots of fun. The successes of the two coaches speak for themselves. The demand for a place at the holiday camp is high. If you didn't get a place at the SWG holiday camp, you might have better luck in the autumn holidays. The football academy is once again offering the autumn camp from 8 to 10 October.
