Focus on heat pumps
The SWG lecture series "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" will focus on the topic of heat pumps on 28 October.
How can a heat pump be used for sustainable heating? What requirements must be met? And why is this the right heating option for me? An expert from Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) will answer all these questions and more in his online lecture from the "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" series on 28 October. Entitled "Air source heat pumps - the heating system of the future", the lecture covers the various aspects that owners should consider before deciding in favour of or against a heat pump.
Good planning is crucial
Firstly, the SWG expert explains the operating principle of a heat pump. "This is crucial in order to understand what requirements the building places on the technology," says Moritz Müller, energy consultant at SWG. This is because the conditions under which the heat pump works naturally change depending on the age, condition and size of the property. Small structural measures may first be necessary to ensure economical operation.
Retrofitting thermal insulation is beneficial, but not absolutely necessary depending on the age of the building. In addition, the heat pump should be well matched to the heating requirements of the house. "All of this needs to be carefully checked in advance and incorporated into the planning," emphasises the expert.
Of course, the various types of heat pumps are also discussed - including all their advantages and disadvantages and the resulting sensible application options. Last but not least, the combination of heat pumps and photovoltaic systems is also on the agenda.
Conveniently from home
All lectures in the "Energy Knowledge on Tuesday" series will take place online. Nevertheless, there is of course the opportunity to ask questions, just like at a face-to-face event. Anyone who would like to attend the lecture "Air source heat pumps - the heating of the future" on Tuesday 28 October at 5.30 pm can register at energieberatung@stadtwerke-giessen.de by 26 October. SWG will send out a participation link in good time.
