Stadtwerke opened Aqua-Gym

Since Thursday, 29 April 2004, the Ringallee bathing centre has been offering its bathing guests an absolute novelty. Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG) opened the first underwater fitness studio in the region. "With our so-called Aqua-Gym, we want to make it clearer than ever to our bathing guests that the Ringallee bathing centre is to become an adventure pool," explained Wolfgang Wondra, head of SWG's swimming pool department. "I am particularly pleased that we are the first swimming pool in the region to be able to offer our customers a highly efficient, but above all health-promoting and fun equipment training programme in the cool water," continued Wondra.

The Aqua-Gym is an economical, health-orientated and fun alternative to conventional fitness studios. It not only offers ideal training conditions for anyone who wants to do something for their health, but also enables top athletes to train with maximum efficiency and training synergy. Underwater training is easy on the joints and ensures a high energy turnover. Under the guidance of the Stadtwerke's qualified aqua instructor, Thomas Volkert, those interested can choose between seven different courses. From "Rückenfit" - to strengthen the back muscles, to "Fatburner" - targeted endurance and interval training to burn fat, to "Seniorenfit" - age-appropriate health training, there is something for everyone. However, if you don't want to commit to a course, you can use the aqua gym for free training at certain times.

The following seven pieces of equipment make up the underwater fitness centre:aqua cycle - to strengthen the leg muscles and the cardiovascular systemaqua pulldown - to strengthen the arm, shoulder and core musclesaqua abs - to strengthen the abdominal, gluteal and thigh muscles, aqua climber - for strengthening the entire leg musculature and strengthening the cardiovascular systemsaqua rower - for strengthening the upper body and the cardiovascular systemaqua crosstrainer - for strengthening the leg and buttock muscles, strengthening the upper body muscles.aqua strider - for strengthening the gluteal and thigh musclesIndividual discussions with the aqua instructor show visitors how to use the training equipment in a targeted manner.

To ensure that the training enthusiasts use the equipment correctly in practice, the SWG expert will of course also supervise the courses.for the next two weeks, Stadtwerke is offering so-called "free training". Customers can train for two hours for just four euros.
