Volunteer fire brigades from the district of Giessen have until 30 April to submit creative ideas and projects for the "Fire brigade of the future" innovation competition.Focus in 2017: the topic of member recruitment
Volunteer fire brigades from the region have enormous innovative strength. They prove this every year in the "Fire Service of the Future" competition. The seventh edition will take place in 2017. Once again, Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) and the district fire brigade association are calling on volunteer fire brigades to submit creative ideas and projects. "This year, it's all about recruiting new members," explains SWG company spokesperson Ina Weller, adding: "We're already very excited and look forward to seeing unusual ideas."
Participants must submit their proposals and application documents to Stadtwerke Gießen by 30 April. Experts from the district fire service association will then review the applications. "The volunteer fire brigades have until 30 September to implement their project. They must submit the detailed project description, including photo documentation, by 31 October," explains Stephanie Orlik, Marketing Services & Sponsoring at SWG. A jury - consisting of representatives from the press, the fire brigades and SWG - will then decide on the winners. Michael Klier, Chairman of the District Fire Brigade Association, is certain: "There will once again be a number of innovative projects that epitomise the wealth of ideas in dealing with current and future challenges."
