Six trainees at Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG) have passed their final exams and were released into the world of work at a ceremony organised by CEO Manfred Siekmann and Ruth Biehl-Franze and Uwe Volbrecht, who are responsible for training.
Apprentices Linda Hoefert from Homberg/Ohm (industrial clerk), Lars Becker from Staufenberg and Francesco Labellarte from Biebertal (industrial clerks), Christian Mehl from Linden (office clerk), Lena Langnickel from Linden and Christopher Peuker from Buseck (pool attendants) passed their exams at the Gießen-Friedberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and now have their certificates in their pockets. Trainee Sebastian Tuchscherer was also bid farewell.
Congratulations
Everyone was completely satisfied with the training and examination results. In addition to numerous congratulations and the certificates, there was also a gift for the career starters.
New workplace
Stadtwerke is particularly pleased to be able to offer five candidates a job for the next six months, despite the difficult times on the labour market at the moment. Linda Hoefert will prove herself in the marketing department over the next few months. Francesco Labellarte will demonstrate his skills in Customer Services, Christian Mehl in Materials Management (Purchasing) and Lena Langnickel and Christopher Peuker in Pool Operations. Lars Becker will be leaving the company at his own request and will continue to "go back to school".
Training up close
Stadtwerke not only assumes responsibility for the region in the area of energy and water supply, but also in the area of training in particular. A modern training centre is available for technical training. Two full-time trainers look after the trainees here. Every year, SWG organises a training day and gives interested parties an insight into day-to-day vocational training at SWG. Word has got around that Stadtwerke has been providing school leavers with a qualified start to their careers for decades. Industrial companies from the region also take advantage of this offer and have their "apprentices" trained at SWG. Interested parties can find more information about training at SWG on the Internet at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de.
