From Tuesday, 11 August, the express bus on route 1 will be running again according to the familiar timetable - earlier than planned. Originally, the additional coach between the Berliner Platz and Sophie-Scholl-Schule stops in Rödgener Straße was not due to return until the beginning of September. However, passenger numbers did not fall as expected during the summer and semester holidays. For this reason, there were some capacity bottlenecks and delays in operations on Line 1.
"Several passengers have complained about the conditions," reports Anne Müller-Kreutz, Head of Local Transport Services at Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG), and explains: "We have therefore decided, together with the city of Gießen, to run the express bus again from next week."
