Which lights are suitable for which purposes in the home and how much energy does an LED light actually save? Horst Winter, energy consultant at Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG), answered these and other questions during a presentation on 15 September at the SWG customer centre on Marktplatz. "If you pay attention to a few things and convert your lighting to energy-efficient technologies, you can immediately reduce electricity consumption in your own four walls and save energy in the long term," he concluded.
The interested visitors took numerous tips and insights home with them - also from the numerous discussions that the energy consultants had with them after the presentation.
Anyone who was unable to attend can also find out everything they need to know about "New lighting" during the daily opening hours of the SWG customer centre. There, the energy consultants from Stadtwerke Gießen - and a small exhibition until 30 September - will provide information on economical lighting technology.
An exhibition on "The right heating system for your building" will follow from 1 October. Interested parties can now register for the corresponding presentation in mid-November by calling 0800 2302100 (free of charge from German landlines and all German mobile networks) and at the SWG customer centre on Marktplatz in Giessen. Opening hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
