There is a lot of relevant information about your flat or house. A new web application from Stadtwerke Gießen makes it easy to manage this information.
Numerous devices help in a modern household. On the one hand, they make life much easier; on the other, they are becoming increasingly complex. Admittedly, basic functions are now almost always self-explanatory. But if you want to use more specialised options or even have a problem, you often need instructions. This is something that is rarely to hand. "This is exactly where All in One Place can be very useful," explains Olaf Volkmer, who is responsible for this new web application at Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG). The electronic helper can be used to store all relevant information relating to the house or flat. And retrieve it at any time - simply and conveniently using a smartphone. There are many useful applications. For example, freely mixed wall colour: when furnishing the new home office, the wallpaper on the recently painted pale green wall has been damaged. Touching up is the order of the day. Not really a problem, but unfortunately there are no more remnants of the paint mixed at the DIY store. "The composition of wall paints is a good example of how versatile All in One Place is," adds Olaf Volkmer. In addition to the colour components or the specifications of light sources, a lot of other information can be stored: "Room dimensions, operating instructions, furniture dimensions, spare part numbers - for water filters, seals or hoover bags, for example - and, and, and. The list is almost endless," adds Olaf Volkmer. Another key function of the web app is that it memorises appointments, such as those for heating maintenance, and reminds you in good time.
The service concept was the inspiration
There is a reason why SWG is now also pushing ahead with the development of useful internet applications: "We have long been pursuing the goal of offering our customers products and energy-related services that make their lives easier," says Jens Schmidt, Commercial Director of SWG, summarising the situation. All in One Place fulfils precisely this requirement. The tool helps to organise the flood of information associated with a property in a simple way. In fact, the application is child's play to use. "Right from the start, we attached great importance to simple, logically comprehensible operation," continues Olaf Volkmer. The basis for this is the clear structure, which is based on the property and leads from the big to the small - i.e. from the building or flat to the individual rooms and the items inside. Users of the app can not only enter all conceivable information, but also upload important documents, for example to store operating instructions. There are two ways to do this: If it is available as a PDF file, it can be uploaded to the system using the upload function. A photo taken with a smartphone can be saved from older, printed documents. Last but not least, All in One Place is also ideal for storing energy supply contracts securely and yet easily accessible.
Constantly improving
All in One Place is free of charge and is constantly being optimised. "We will continue to develop the application and make it even more user-friendly," promises Olaf Volkmer. And therefore asks for feedback. "We welcome any suggestions, be it ideas that we haven't yet considered or problems with the application." SWG is also planning to offer the smart tool as a real app for smartphones and tablets.
All in One Place is worth taking a closer look at for anyone who wants to bring more order to the wealth of information relating to their own four walls. An initial overview is possible without an account. The extensive explanatory tour through the application already provides a very precise picture of what is possible.
