Replacement supply of electricity
In accordance with § 38 EnWG, Stadtwerke Gießen will take over the so-called replacement supply if
- electricity is purchased by the connection user without this purchase being attributable to a specific electricity supply contract, or
- the actual electricity supplier of the connection user does not feed energy into the grid in accordance with its contractual obligations (e.g. as a result of insolvency).
A distinction is made here between household customers and non-household customers.
According to the German Energy Industry Act (EnWG),household customers are end consumers who purchase energy primarily for their own household consumption or for their own consumption for professional, agricultural or commercial purposes that does not exceed 10,000 kilowatt hours per year.
Non-household customers are final consumers who purchase more than 10,000 kWh per year for professional, agricultural or commercial purposes.
