On Saturday, 19 September 2009, Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG) organised a day of action around its energy service "enerGIeßen". From 09:00 to 18:00, everything revolved around saving energy at the infoCentre on the market square. This year's anniversary shows that Stadtwerke Gießen has extensive expertise in the field of energy consulting: SWG celebrated 50 years of energy consulting during the event day.
On the day of the event, Stadtwerke Gießen presented two new services that will supplement the "enerGIeßen" range in future. Anyone who wants to know when and how much electricity is consumed in their household will in future benefit from the electricity savings check. This service helps tenants and homeowners to reduce electricity costs.
The professional heating check shows at a glance the energy quality of the heating system and the potential for energy savings. This service is for customers who want to permanently reduce their heating costs and protect the environment.
As part of the "enerGIeßen" service, Stadtwerke Gießen AG works in part with the sanitary, heating and air conditioning guilds (SHK) and the district craftsmen's association (KH). Michael Rösner (Head of Private and Commercial Customer Sales) and Michael Berkowski (Head of the HVAC guild) signed the contract to finalise the collaboration for the heating check. Armin Schmidt (Managing Director of the District Craftsmen's Association) and Friedrich Rosenbaum (Deputy Guild Master) were also present.
As part of the campaign day, visitors were also able to find out about the other components of "enerGIeßen", such as energy certificates, e-checks, thermography, blower door tests and the planning, construction and optimisation of heating systems.
Supporting programme
In addition to the presentation of the two new "enerGIeßen" modules, interested parties had the opportunity to talk to SWG energy advisors or take part in a competition. Exclusively on the campaign day, there were 20 prizes relating to "enerGIeßen". A colourful supporting programme, including the sale of raffle tickets for the "Tour of Hope", rounded off the day of action.
