Cooperation in the field of energy certificates

Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG) and Energie-Kompetenz-Centrum Mittelhessen GmbH will be working together in future in the field of issuing EU building energy certificates. The aim of the co-operation is to issue high-quality energy performance certificates efficiently and quickly. This applies to both consumption-based and demand-orientated certificates.

Michael Rösner, Head of Sales for Private and Commercial Customers at SWG, and Hinderk Hillebrands, Managing Director of EKC, agree that the energy performance certificate is a valuable tool for house and flat owners, buyers and tenants. With this cooperation, SWG is expanding its enerGIeßen service package.

Uncovering potential energy savings

Heating costs account for the largest proportion of total ancillary housing costs in private households. One third of primary energy consumption in Germany is used for space heating and hot water. However, unlike many household appliances and cars, the energy consumption of buildings is usually an unknown quantity for their users. This does not have to be the case: The EU building energy performance certificate makes the energy quality of a building recognisable at a glance for owners, buyers and tenants. The energy consultants at SWG and the experts at the EKC have the necessary expertise to identify sensible energy-saving potential for individual customers.
