The 2024 outdoor pool season comes to an end in Kleinlinden and Lützellinden. Almost 20,000 bathers came in total.

On Sunday, 1 September 2024, the district outdoor pools in Kleinlinden and Lützellinden will close their doors until next summer. On the 92 days they were open, almost 20,000 visitors took the opportunity to refresh themselves or simply spend a few hours in the sun and unwind - around 1,000 bathers fewer than in 2023. "This year, too, the rather mixed summer is making itself felt in the visitor numbers," explains Uwe Volbrecht, Head of Giessen's swimming pools. Despite the comparatively low temperatures - there were only eight days in 2024 when the thermometer reached the 30-degree mark - the Giessen pools extended their opening hours by one hour during the summer holidays. Important to know: season tickets are still valid in the longer open and heated outdoor pool in Ringallee from the time the two pools close.

Nine-month break

If everything goes according to plan, the next outdoor pool season in Kleinlinden and Lützellinden will start at the beginning of June 2025. As usual, the Giessen pools will use the nine months until reopening for necessary care and maintenance work.
