The Bellof family from Fernwald will save electricity with every load of laundry in future. This is because Heinrich Bellof proved his good instincts in a competition organised by the SWG customer magazine "elahn". A call in "elahn" led him to the website www.energiessen.de, the energy services portal of Stadtwerke Gießen. There he found the hidden prize voucher for a highly efficient A+++ class washing machine, printed it out and handed it in to SWG's energy advice centre at Marktplatz 8. Luck was on his side in the subsequent draw among all participants.

Free choice in the specialist shop
At the beginning of February, Michael Rösner, Head of Private and Commercial Customer Sales at SWG, presented the lucky winner with the voucher at the premises of the Lich company on Marktplatz. Together with owner Bernhard Lich, Heinrich Bellof and his wife can now set off in search of a highly efficient washing machine worth up to 850 euros. The couple are free to choose the manufacturer and model.
Michael Rösner knows: "Even after 15 years, many washing machines still perform well and clean dirty laundry perfectly. However, efficiency standards and potential savings have increased dramatically. Some laundry rooms are real energy guzzlers." That's why the expert advises putting even functional appliances to the test. A cost comparison shows how quickly the investment in a new machine pays for itself. The energy consultants at Stadtwerke Gießen at Marktplatz 8 above the Engel pharmacy can help. Advice is available by telephone on 0641 708-1177.
