From Monday 23 August, Tannenweg will be closed to traffic for an extended period. Between Jahnstraße and the Arbeiterwohlfahrt building near the Philosophenwald road, a construction site will block the road. The reason for the construction work is a four-month full renovation of Tannenweg on behalf of the civil engineering department, Mittelhessische Abwasserbetriebe and Stadtwerke Gießen.

For local public transport, this means a diversion of the SWG bus route 7 both in the direction of Berliner Platz and in the direction of Philosphenwald between the stops on August-Messer-Straße and Pestalozzischule via Pestalozzistraße. The Tannenweg and Professorenweg stops will be cancelled and a replacement stop will be set up in Pestalozzistraße on the corner of Jahnstraße.

Information on bus diversions and replacement stops can be obtained from SWG on 0641 708-1400, on the Internet at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de in the traffic section under "Current traffic information" or directly from the mobility centre in the infoZentrum.
