Due to the Golden Oldies event, Stadtwerke Gießen will have to reroute buses in Krofdorf-Gleiberg.

From Friday 26 July to Sunday 28 July, the organisers of the "Golden Oldies" are once again expecting thousands of visitors from near and far. Because the popular festival is taking place in the centre of Wettenberg Krofdorf-Gleiberg, Burgstraße and Hauptstraße, among others, will be closed. As a result, the 800 and 802 bus routes will not be able to run as usual and will not serve the stops "Am Wingert", "Haupt-/Inselstraße", "Apotheke", "Hainweg" and "Hardtweg".

On their late-night journeys, the buses on route 800 will make a loop via Wetzlarer Straße, Wiesenstraße and Wißmarer Straße. Passengers can get on and off at the "Wiesenstraße", "Kronzenborner Weg" and "Wißmarer Straße" stops. The early morning journey at 4.55 a.m. on 26 July 2024 will run regularly from the "Am Wingert" stop in Krofdorf-Gleiberg.

Line 802 serves these stops as standard. However, due to the aforementioned closure, buses travelling in the direction of Giessen will follow the alternative route via Kattenbachstraße from the "Wißmarer Straße" stop. The "Seemühle" stop on Wetzlarer Straße will also be served.

This arrangement applies from the start of service on Friday until the end of service on Sunday. SWG will be using articulated trams to cope with the increased demand.

SWG has compiled all the information about the diversions on its website: www.swg-verkehr.de. Of course, the staff at the RMV mobility centre in Giessen on Marktplatz and by telephone on 0641 708-1400 can also provide information. Opening hours of the RMV Mobility Centre Giessen in the SWG Customer Centre: Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm.
