Due to roadworks in Bahnhofstraße between Schanzenstraße and Westanlage, SWG bus route 5 in the direction of the railway station will take a diversion from Monday 26 April. From the railway station in the direction of Marktplatz, the normal route will be maintained.
Due to the diversion in the direction of the railway station from Marktplatz via Ostwaldsgarten, Westanlage and Frankfurter Straße, it will not be possible to get off at the City Center stop. Line 5 will make alternative stops at Oswaldsgarten, Selterstor and Liebigstraße. The longer diversion route compared to the normal route will result in longer journey times between Marktplatz and the railway station, meaning that passengers can expect to arrive at the station around four minutes later.
The roadworks are due to construction work in Bahnhofstraße, which is expected to take seven months. In the coming weeks, the construction work will be extended to the western section between the Karstadt multi-storey car park and Goetheschule.
