On Tuesday, 14 May 2019, thousands will start the Giessen company run at 7 pm sharp. Because the route not only leads through the Wieseckaue city park, the organisers will also have some roads closed. This has consequences for bus services in Giessen: between 5 p.m. and 10 p.m., lines 5/15 to Wieseck - Greizer Straße and Wieseck - Burgenring, line 12 to Sandfeldschule and line 371 to Rabenau/Staufenberg will not be able to call at the Behördenzentrum stop. Instead of travelling via Ostanlage, they will travel via Grünberger Straße and Moltkestraße and instead serve the Berliner Platz - Kongresshalle stop. However, the diversion only affects the direction of travel mentioned in each case. In the opposite direction, the buses will follow the usual route. SWG will, of course, display appropriate information at the bus stops.
Plan for delays
As Moltkestraße crosses the route, it will also be closed to normal traffic from around 7 pm. However, buses will be allowed to pass through this area - coordinated by the police. Experience has shown that there will be traffic jams in the city centre due to the running event. These obstructions are very likely to affect not only the four routes that are already affected, but all routes that run through the centre of Giessen. Stadtwerke Gießen would ask for your understanding in advance.
All information on local transport, especially on the current diversions, is of course also available at the mobility centre on the market square and on the Internet at https://www.swg-verkehr.de
