With the start of operations on Thursday, 21 July, buses on lines 3 and 13, line 11 and lines 800 and 802 will run on a diversion route for an estimated three weeks. The reason for this is construction work in Ludwigstraße and a one-way closure between the junction of Bismarckstraße and Ludwigsplatz in the direction of Berliner Platz.
The buses on route 11 will therefore be travelling in the direction of "Johanneskirche" on the alternative route via Bismarckstraße, Südanlage, Ostanlage, Moltkestraße and Grünberger Straße to the "Berliner Platz" stop.
Buses on routes 3 and 13 in the direction of the cemetery will take a diversion via Bismarckstraße and Südanlage to the "Stadttheater" stop. The "Berliner Platz" stop will be cancelled for the duration of the construction work.
No diversion is necessary in the direction of the dialysis centre.
A diversion via Nahrungsberg and Gartenstraße applies for lines 800 and 802 travelling in the direction of Wettenberg. The "Liebigschule" stop will be cancelled. Instead, Stadtwerke Giessen has set up a replacement stop in Nahrungsberg, at Keplerstraße.
No diversion is necessary in the direction of Rathenaustraße due to the roadworks in Ludwigstraße. However, the trams will have to take an alternative route from 25 July due to work on the corner of Schiffenberger Weg and Aulweg, probably for a week. From Berliner Platz, the route will run via Grünberger Straße, Licher Straße, Alter Steinbacher Weg, Rathenaustraße, Heegstrauchweg and Klingelbachweg to the "Klingelbachweg" stop.
The bus stops "Liebigschule", "Aulweg" and "Am Unteren Rain" will be cancelled. Alternatively, the buses will stop at the "Nahrungsberg", "Ostschule" and "Rathenaustraße" stops, as they are served by route 801.
No diversion is necessary on the affected section of the route in the direction of Wettenberg.
