From Sunday 17 July, buses on route 6 will be running on a diversion route. The reason for this is the renovation of the road surface in Schiffenberger Weg between the junction to Gießener Ring and Petersweiher from Monday 11 July. The construction work is expected to last until 19 August. In the meantime, the out-of-town carriages on route 6 will take an alternative route from the "Sandkauter Weg" stop via the Giessener Ring and the B457 trunk road in the direction of Fernwald-Steinbach. From there, the route continues in the direction of Garbenteich and Giessen to Schiffenberg. In the opposite direction, the buses return via the same route in reverse order. The "Forsthaus" stop in the direction of the city centre will be cancelled.
New arrival and departure times
There will be no changes to the departure times from Berliner Platz in the direction of Schiffenberg during the construction work. They will remain at 21 minutes past the hour. However, due to the diversion, the arrival at Schiffenberg will be postponed to 20 minutes past the hour. The return journey will take place immediately. 49 minutes after the hour, the trams on line 6 will arrive back at Berliner Platz on the Kongresshalle side. This also changes the usual changeover time at the "Berliner Platz" stop from 21 minutes to 51 minutes after the hour.
If passengers have any questions about the diversions, they can contact the advisors at the mobility centre in the Stadtwerke Gießen customer centre on Marktplatz - by telephone on 0641 708-1400 or in person, opening hours: Monday to Friday from 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays from 9 am to 2 pm. Stadtwerke Gießen also provides the current timetables on its website at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de/verkehr.
