From Monday, 11 November, city bus routes 3 and 13 will run in both directions between the Ludwig-Uhland-Schule and Ebelstraße stops on a diversion route via Leihgesterner Weg and Aulweg. The reason: construction work in the lower part of Wartweg, during which Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) is renewing gas, water and electricity pipes. For the duration of the work - which is expected to last eight months - SWG has set up a replacement stop in Leihgesterner Weg at the pedestrian crossing at Otto-Eger-Heim. "The alternative route has no impact on departure and arrival times. The timetable for all other stations remains the same," adds Anne Müller-Kreutz, Head of Local Transport Services at SWG.
Due to the construction site, however, line 11 of the Wetzlar public transport company will also be running on a diversion route from Monday, 11 November. The buses will run from Friedrichstraße via Frankfurter Straße and Wilhelmstraße to Ludwigstraße. The usual stop in Friedrichstraße will be cancelled. A replacement stop - also under the name "Friedrichstraße" - has been set up in Frankfurter Straße. Buses are not expected to return to the "Otto-Eger-Heim" stop until mid-January.
