
More than 17,000 users get tips for weekend excursions or cultural and sporting events in the region straight to their smartphones. This is made possible by the GIESSEN Discover app, which has something for everyone with information on over 650 events, restaurants and services in the region. Since 2015, the pocket helper has also been answering questions about what's on offer at the Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) swimming pools.
"We are delighted with the success of the app and, of course, that we have been able to contribute to it over the past two years," reveals Jens Schmidt, Commercial Director of SWG. "The application is an example of how modern media can bring real benefits to local people." The operator of the app, Distama GmbH, and SWG now want to make the digital helper even better and offer users additional benefits.
On Tuesday, 15 August, Jens Schmidt, Ulli Boos, Head of Marketing at SWG, and the two Distama Managing Directors Markwart Pralle and Michael Raubach signed a cooperation agreement to this effect. "With SWG, we have a strong partner at our side who will work with us to drive the GIESSEN Discover app forward," explained Markwart Pralle at the signing of the agreement. Michael Raubach added: "People from Giessen and the region can look forward to a range of added values that they will be able to access in the app via a special SWG area in the near future."
