Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) will be laying district heating, drinking water and electricity pipes in Friedrichstraße from the beginning of September until the end of 2012. "The construction work is taking place in the area of the pavements and parking lanes. We would therefore like to inform all vehicle owners that the parking spaces on the carriageway between the junctions with Arndtstraße and Studentensteg will no longer be available from 3 September," says Martin Kreutz from SWG. Access roads and entrances to the properties in this section of road can still be used by residents during the work. The same applies to the second construction phase between the Studentensteg junction and Wartweg, which is expected to begin in the second week of November.

Short-term information possible
"We are endeavouring to ensure that local residents notice as little of the work as possible. Of course, it can't be completely avoided," explains Martin Kreutz. SWG does not envisage any interruptions to the supply. However, if the work requires it, Stadtwerke Gießen will inform all residents by letter at short notice.
