Construction work in Aulweg continues

Due to significantly more complex renovation work, the completion of the construction work in Aulweg has been delayed once again.

The laying of district heating pipes in Aulweg by Stadtwerke Gießen is taking longer than planned, as the dismantling of the existing heating duct is proving to be much more complex than originally assumed. There is also additional, unforeseen work: during the construction work, experts discovered and replaced an outdated gate valve on a water pipe and laid new pipes in some sections of the sewer. The work is expected to continue until mid-October. The current traffic routing will remain in place until the work is finally completed: one side of the carriageway between Leihgesterner Weg and Wartweg will continue to be closed to traffic and Aulweg will only be accessible in the direction of Schubertstraße.
