Upcoming conversion work at the Congress Hall and at the bus stop in front of it.

With the start of operations on Monday, 27 July 2020, Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) will have to reroute the bus routes that run via the Berliner Platz bus stop (bus platform 1) in the direction of Ludwigsplatz. No diversion is necessary in the opposite direction. The Berliner Platz stop (bus platform 2) on the Stadthaus side will be served as normal. The reason for these far-reaching interventions are reconstruction measures in the area of the Kongresshalle and the associated modernisation of the Berliner Platz bus stop on this side of the street. As part of the modernisation, the stop will be made barrier-free. As a result, SWG will probably not be able to serve the stop until spring 2021.

This temporary closure will result in the following diversions: Lines 1 and 17 will run in the direction of Rödgen, Am Alten Flughafen and Sophie-Scholl-Schule from the Johanneskirche stop to the Behördenzentrum stop, then continue via Ostanlage, Moltkestraße and Grünberger Straße to the Wolfstraße stop.
Line 2 runs in the direction of Eichendorffring from the Marktplatz stop to the Behördenzentrum stop. It will travel via Ostanlage, Moltkestraße and Licher Straße to the Nahrungsberg stop. Line GI-22 in the direction of Fernwald is also affected. It runs from the Johanneskirche stop to the Behördenzentrum stop and follows the route of line 2.
Lines 3 and 13 in the direction of Schwarzacker/Schlangenzahl/Dialysezentrum will serve the Stadttheater stop after the Marktplatz stop and then continue along Südanlage and Bismarckstraße to the Liebigschule stop.
Line 6 will only run on Sundays and public holidays and will use the Behördenzentrum stop instead of the Berliner Platz stop in both directions for the duration of the construction work.
Line 7 runs in the direction of Philosophenwald from the Marktplatz stop to the Behördenzentrum stop. It will continue via Ostanlage, Moltkestraße and Eichgärtenallee to the Schwanenteich stop.
Line 9 will run in the direction of travel from the Alfred-Bock-Straße stop via the Behördenzentrum stop, then continue via Moltkestraße, Licher Gabel and Nahrungsberg street.
Line 801 will run in the direction of Ostschule like line 2 after the Behördenzentrum stop via Ostanlage, Moltkestraße and Licher Straße to the Nahrungsberg stop.
Line 802 will run in the direction of Philosophikum II from the Marktplatz stop to the Behördenzentrum stop and continue via Moltkestraße, Grünberger Straße and Ludwigstraße to the Liebigschule stop.
Journeys on lines 801 and 802 from Wettenberg to the final stop Berliner Platz will follow the regular route.
