With the start of the Hessian school holidays on Monday, 5 July, Rodheimer Straße will be closed between the street "An der Hessenhalle" and Hardtallee in the direction of Oswaldsgarten for around six weeks. The reason for this is the construction of a district heating line on behalf of SWG. For bus traffic in Giessen, the construction site means that routes 12, 24, 410, 419 and 420 will be diverted via the road "An der Hessenhalle". This means that the Hardtallee and Hessenhalle stops in the direction of the city centre cannot be reached. A replacement stop for the stop in Hardtallee is available to passengers in the street "An der Hessenhalle". This is located between the entrance to Karosseriebau Scholz and the nearby car park.
The Venus night bus will also be bypassing the construction site in the coming weeks: its route runs from Heuchelheimer Straße in the direction of Weststadt via the street "An der Hessenhalle" and August-Balser-Weg back to Rodheimer Straße.
Buses will continue to run on the usual routes in the direction of Gewerbegebiet West, Heuchelheim and Biebertal. However, local traffic disruptions and delays to regular services are to be expected during the entire construction phase on Rodheimer Straße.
Passengers can obtain further information by calling 0641 708-1400 or from the mobility centre on the market square.
