For the Giessen City Festival from 20 to 22 August, Stadtwerke Giessen will be running its buses longer so that visitors can get home safely: On the festival weekend, from Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday, some routes will run on a special timetable from 23:30. The starting point is always the "Marktplatz" stop. From there, at 00:30 and 1 a.m., buses on line 1 will travel to Lützellinden and Rödgen, line 2 to Eichendorffring, line 3 to Friedhof and Wartweg, line 5 to Wieseck and line 7 to Philosophenwald and Evangelisches Krankenhaus. Line 801 runs to Weststadt and Rathenaustraße. Passengers can get to Petersweiher and Sandfeld by scheduled taxi, which also departs from Giessen Market Square.

Home with Venus and Saturn
During the city festival, the two free night buses operated by the city of Giessen will continue to run as usual from Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday: "Venus" and "Saturn" run from 00:30 to 04:30 in the morning. The Venus line serves the railway station and the north and west of Giessen, including the Wieseck district. The Saturn night bus route travels to the south and east of the city as well as to Kleinlinden. The districts of Rödgen, Allendorf and Lützellinden can be reached by connecting taxis. The buses start and finish at Berliner Platz in Giessen and run every hour.

Another tip: even if you want to go to the city festival with friends or acquaintances during the day, you can leave your car behind for the sake of safety and the party atmosphere. The inexpensive group day ticket for up to five adults is available for just 5.80 euros.

Run 'n Roll for Help
Due to the Giessen city run "Run 'n Roll for Help" on Sunday, 22 August, line 5 in the direction of the train station and line 12 to Berliner Platz will run a diversion route on Sunday from midday until around 20:00. Line 5 will run in the direction of the railway station from the Landgericht stop via Moltkestraße, Grünberger Straße to Berliner Platz. The Berliner Platz stop will be used instead of the Behördenzentrum stop. Line 12 will run from the Steinstraße stop via Nordanlage and Marktplatz to Berliner Platz. The stops Landgericht and Behördenzentrum will be cancelled. Buses on routes 5 and 12 travelling in the direction of Wieseck or Sandfeldschule will not be detoured.
