For almost a year now, Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) has been supporting clubs and institutions that offer sport for children and young people with its "Play your game" campaign. The aim is to make exercise fun and enjoyable for young people. Part of the concept is to give clubs from Giessen and the region the opportunity to present their sports to a wide audience. SWG is organising the City Day on Sunday, 10 June at the Ringallee outdoor pool for this very purpose. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors can experience and try out a number of sports, some of which are exotic. Admission is of course free.

The programme is impressive: The Kampfsportfreunde Gießen will be giving an insight into wrestling and the KSV Wieseck will be bringing along a mobile bowling alley. MTV 1846 Gießen will be demonstrating two different, albeit in some ways related, sports: cheerleading and football. With TSV Klein-Linden, the king of football is also at the start. The cracks from Teutonia Krofdorf-Gleiberg will show what is possible with a bike in cycle ball. Their neighbours from TSV come to the Ringallee with their rugby team, the Celts. The DLRG Gießen district association demonstrates how much fun swimming and water rescue can be. And the fact that "Spiel' Dein Spiel" is very popular can also be seen from the fact that the Giessen Sports Association will be providing interested visitors with information.

The fitness experts from Actic will also be on hand. Children can get a taste of circus balancing with clown Ichmael. And of course the Giessen swimming pools will also be taking part in City Day - with Aqua-Zumba and an information stand. The SWG get-together with the popular wheel of fortune completes the colourful programme for the whole family.
