Stadtwerke congratulates industrial clerks on passing their exams

Three commercial trainees at Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG) had reason to celebrate: they passed their final examination at the Giessen-Friedberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and now have their certificates in their pockets. Jennifer Baier from Buseck, Dennis Grosse from Langgöns and Katharina Lorenz from Pohlheim are now certified industrial clerks. CongratulationsOn behalf of Stadtwerke, Ruth Biehl-Franze, Head of Training and Women's Representative at SWG, and Hans-Jürgen Schulz, Head of Human Resources, congratulated the newly qualified specialists. At a small ceremony, the Head of Human Resources emphasised that even in the current difficult times on the labour market, training as an industrial clerk still has a future. "Few apprenticeships are so varied and offer such a wide range of opportunities for professional development," said Schulz. New workplaceThe industrial clerks Jennifer Baier and Katharina Lorenz found their future workplace in the customer service/billing/receivables management and accounting departments. Training is a top priorityEvery year, Stadtwerke makes a commitment to young people: At present, 4 commercial and 20 industrial trainees are still undergoing training at the Giessen-based energy and water supplier. In addition to vocational school lessons, SWG prepares its junior staff for the world of work through hands-on training. "We orientate ourselves on their future working life and make the trainees fit for future requirements," explained Ruth Biehl-Franze. This year, each trainee worked in a project group - in which concepts for various topics were developed and implemented. The trainees also worked with the SWG trainers to organise the open day at the Stadtwerke training centre, which was attended by around 300 guests on 4 June.
