Foolish hustle and bustle in the streets of Giessen on Sunday

The fifth season is just around the corner and with it the carnival parade organised by the Giessener Fassennachts-Vereinigung e. V. (GFV). For the city buses of Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG), this means that there may be disruptions on all routes between 1.30 pm and 5 pm. The municipal utilities are already expecting increased passenger volumes before the carnival hustle and bustle and are therefore deploying articulated trains on lines 1, 2 and 5.

Otherwise, the buses will run according to the normal Sunday and public holiday timetable on this day.

Additional buses ready for use

Three more city buses are waiting in the wings on the SWG premises. SWG will deploy these buses individually as required in order to be able to cope with the high volume of passengers if necessary.

Stadtwerke asks its passengers for their understanding if there are delays or journey interruptions due to the carnival parade.
