By bus to the Golden Oldies

To mark the ‘Golden Oldies’ festival, MIT.BUS is organising special services between Gießen and Krofdorf-Gleiberg. Bus routes 801 and 802 will be diverted.

From Friday 24 July to Sunday 26 July, the municipality of Wettenberg is hosting the ‘Golden Oldies’ festival. Experience has shown that many people attend this event, which is well-known beyond the region. MIT.BUS is taking this into account by running a special service (route 803) in addition to the regular route 802, ensuring that visitors from Gießen can travel comfortably by bus to the festival and back again. The additional spacious articulated buses will run on Saturday 25 July and Sunday 26 July. The journey towards Wettenberg begins at the railway station. From the ‘Marktplatz’ stop, the special buses will follow the route of line 802 and serve all the regular stops. For the return journey, they will take the same route and stop at the same stations. The standard RMV fare conditions apply on line 803 buses. All further important information – such as departure times and fares – is available online at www.mitbus.de/verkehrshinweise. The timetable for route 803 is also included in the RMV timetable enquiry service and the RMV app.

Diversion for bus routes 801 and 802
As the classic car festival is taking place in the centre of Wettenberg Krofdorf-Gleiberg, Burgstraße and Hauptstraße will be closed to traffic. This means that buses on routes 801 and 802 will have to be diverted.

The first journey on route 802 on Friday 24 July will run from Krofdorf-Gleiberg according to the regular timetable. Travelling from Gießen, route 802 will then continue as usual to the ‘Wißmarer Straße’ stop. From there, the buses will then follow a diversion via Kattenbachstraße, calling at the ‘Klingelgarten’, ‘Seemühle’ and ‘Am Augarten’ stops. Consequently, the stops ‘Am Wingert’, ‘Haupt-/Inselstraße’, ‘Apotheke’, ‘Hainweg’ and ‘Hardtweg’ will not be served. This arrangement applies from Friday, following the regular early morning service, until the end of service on Sunday.

On its first early-morning journey, route 801 will still serve the ‘Am Wingert’ stop in Krofdorf-Gleiberg. On its late-night services from Wißmar, it will skip the ‘Am Wingert’ stop. It terminates at the ‘Seemühle’ stop and continues from there at 00:33 as route 802.
