Stadtwerke Gießen will continue to provide mobility in Gießen during the upcoming public holidays.
As usual, Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) will ensure that people can reliably get from A to B by bus over the festive period around Christmas and the turn of the year. However, special timetables apply: On Christmas Eve, all routes run according to the Saturday timetable until around 5 pm. After that, services are suspended until the following morning. On the first and second Christmas holidays, the city buses run as usual on Sundays and public holidays.
On New Year's Eve, the Saturday timetable also applies - with the restriction that all routes only run until around 11.30 pm. SWG will provide mobility on New Year's Eve with its three tried-and-tested New Year's Eve shuttles. They start
from 1 a.m. to 4 a.m. on the hour at Berliner Platz. They cover large parts of the city area via various circular routes. You can find out when the shuttles serve which stops at www.swg-verkehr.de/silvester . The normal Sunday and public holiday timetable applies again on New Year's Day. Important for night owls: The Venus and Saturn night bus routes will not be running from 24 December 2024 to 1 January 2025.
