On Tuesday, 25 March and Wednesday, 26 March, the next round of the current collective bargaining strike is scheduled. Stadtwerke Gießen therefore expects bus services to be cancelled again.

No agreement has been reached in the current wage negotiations between the trade union ver.di and the municipal employers. ver.di has therefore called on employees in the public sector to strike on Tuesday 25 March and Wednesday 26 March. The call also applies to several cities in Hesse, including Giessen. "We assume that the strike will again have a significant impact on regular services in the town and municipality of Wettenberg on both days. It is expected that there will be cancellations throughout the day. Unfortunately, we can only advise passengers to find out about alternatives," explains Anne Müller-Kreutz, Head of SWG Local Transport Services.
As was the case last week, the drivers of the Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) subsidiary MIT.BUS are also expected to strike on Tuesday and Wednesday. This is because the trade union ver.di is also negotiating new tariffs with the private bus companies in Hesse - so far without any results.

SWG will keep its passengers informed about cancellations and the current strike situation at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de/verkehr, by calling the SWG service number 0800 23 02 100 or by calling the local transport control centre on 0641 708-1260. The staff at the mobility centre can be contacted on 0641 708-1400. If you have any questions, the SWG local transport services staff at the customer centre on Marktplatz will also be happy to help. Opening hours: Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
