Bus services at Christmas, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day

On Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, the city buses in Giessen will once again operate according to a modified timetable at times. On Christmas Eve, the SWG lines will follow the regular Saturday timetable - until the end of service at around 17:00. The same applies on 31 December until around 23:30. On 25 and 26 December, buses will run according to the usual Sunday and public holiday timetable.
Important note for night owls: The Saturn and Venus night bus routes will be cancelled from 24 December 2015 to 8 January 2016. On New Year's Eve, revellers can still leave their cars at home.

New Year's Eve: get home safely by bus
SWG has once again set up the New Year's Eve shuttle bus service for the night of 31 December to 1 January. A special timetable applies between 01:00 and 04:00. The three New Year's Eve shuttles run every 60 minutes within the city of Giessen and to the municipality of Heuchelheim. Below are the routes of the shuttle buses in detail:

New Year's Eve shuttle 1
New Year's Eve shuttle 1 travels via Berliner Platz, Schiffenberger Weg, Sandkauter Weg, Ohlebergsweg, Aulweg, Frankfurter Straße, Klein-Linden, Allendorf, Lützellinden and back via Klein-Linden, Frankfurter Straße to the starting point at Berliner Platz.

New Year's Eve shuttle 2
New Year's Eve shuttle 2 starts at Berliner Platz and runs via Ostanlage, Marburger Straße, Wiesecker Weg, Wieseck, Philosophenwald, Grünberger Straße, Rödgener Straße, Rödgen, Licher Straße and then returns to Berliner Platz.

New Year's Eve shuttle 3
New Year's Eve Shuttle 3 starts at Berliner Platz and travels via Eichgärtenviertel, Weststadt, Heuchelheim and Kinzenbach before returning to Berliner Platz.

Information on the timetable
Passengers can always obtain up-to-date information on changes to the timetable by calling the SWG service number 0641 708-1400, on the Internet at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de or directly at the mobility centre in the SWG customer centre on Gießen's Marktplatz. Opening hours of the mobility centre: Mondays to Fridays from 09:00 to 18:00 and Saturdays from 09:00 to 14:00. The mobility centre is closed on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
