On 24 and 31 December as well as on 1 January, special timetables will once again apply to the Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) public transport service. Until around 5 pm on Christmas Eve, buses will run according to the regular Saturday timetable. After that, the regular service will be cancelled. On 25 and 26 December and on New Year's Day, the respective departure and arrival times for Sundays and public holidays apply.
On New Year's Eve, all city buses will run according to the usual Saturday timetable until around 11 pm. "But passengers can also get home safely on public transport at night after celebrating the New Year. We have once again set up a New Year's Eve shuttle service," explains Anne Müller-Kreutz, Head of Post-Transport Services at Stadtwerke Gießen.
From 1 a.m. to 4 a.m., three lines will run every hour within the Giessen city area from Berliner Platz. The following routes will be operated:

New Year's Eve shuttle 1:
Berliner Platz, Schiffenberger Weg, Sandkauter Weg, Ohlebergsweg, Aulweg, Wartweg, Frankfurter Straße, Klein-Linden, Allendorf, Lützellinden and back via Klein-Linden, Frankfurter Straße back to Berliner Platz

New Year's Eve shuttle 2:

Berliner Platz, Ostanlage, Marburger Straße, Wiesecker Weg, Wieseck, Philosophenwald, Grünberger Straße, Rödgener Straße, Rödgen, Licher Straße, Berliner Platz

New Year's Eve shuttle 3:
Berliner Platz via Eichgärtenviertel, Weststadt, Heuchelheim, Sonnenstraße stop in Kinzenbach and back via Marktplatz to Berliner Platz

"Venus" and "Saturn" not in service
An important note for the weekend between Christmas and New Year: the "Venus" and "Saturn" night bus routes will not be running from 24 December to 2 January.

Passengers can also obtain all information on the special timetables by calling the SWG service number 0641 708-1400, on the Internet at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de and at the mobility centre in the customer centre on Marktplatz. Opening hours: Mondays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
