Bus routes 10 and 18 are being diverted

In addition to the level crossing in Aulweg, the crossing of the tracks in Erdkauter Weg will also be closed from next Monday, 15 June 2026. This will have a direct impact on bus routes 10 and 18: Line 10 will run shorter in both directions from the "Bahnhof" stop to the "Unterhof" stop due to time constraints. In between, the buses will serve the stops "Friedrichstraße", "Röntgenstraße", "Leihgesterner Weg" and "Naturwissenschaften". Unfortunately, line 10 will not be able to travel to the stops "Klinikstraße", "Schubertstraße", "Haydnstraße", "Paul-Meimberg-Straße", "Arndtstraße", "Erdkauter Weg", "Sandkauter Weg", "Siemensstraße" and "Philosophikum".

Line 18 will continue to run between the "Bahnhof" and "Philosophikum" stops - but with significantly more journeys. In this way, MIT.BUS is replacing the "Philosophikum" stop, which has been cancelled due to the construction site, with line 10.

In order to provide passengers with direct connections between the "Unterhof" and "Philosophikum" stops, MIT.BUS will link the two bus lines at the "Bahnhof" stop using a circuitous route. This means that journeys on route 10 at Unterhof change to route 18 at the "Bahnhof" stop and continue to the "Philosophikum" stop. In the opposite direction, the buses on route 18 will take over the name and route of route 10 from the railway station.

Further information on current bus diversions is available on 0641 708-1400, on the Internet at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de/verkehrshinweise or at the RMV Mobility Centre Giessen in the SWG Customer Centre on Marktplatz. Opening hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 6 pm. SWG can of course also be contacted by e-mail: mobizentrale@stadtwerke-giessen.de
