Golden Oldies: Additional journeys and bus diversions

To mark the "Golden Oldies" festival, SWG is organising a special bus service between Giessen and Krofdorf-Gleiberg. Two bus routes will also have to be diverted.

From Friday 25 July to Sunday 27 July, many people are expected to make their way to the "Golden Oldies" festival. To ensure that visitors from Giessen can get to and from the festival easily by bus, Stadtwerke Giessen (SWG) is organising a special bus service on Saturday 26 July and Sunday 27 July. In the direction of Wettenberg, the spacious articulated buses will depart from bus platform 1 at the railway station, following the route of route 802 from the "Marktplatz" stop and serving all stops along the way. In the opposite direction, they follow the same route and stop at the same stations. All other important information - such as departure times and prices - can be found on the Internet at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de/verkehrshinweise

Diversion for bus routes 800 and 802
As usual, the classic car festival will take place in the centre of Wettenberg Krofdorf-Gleiberg, which is why Burgstraße and Hauptstraße will be closed to traffic. This will have an impact on bus routes 800 and 802, as the buses will not be able to serve the stops "Am Wingert", "Haupt-/Inselstraße", "Apotheke", "Hainweg" and "Hardtweg" on these three days.

Line 802 coming from the direction of Giessen will initially run as usual to the "Wißmarer Straße" stop. However, due to the closures, buses travelling in the direction of Giessen will take a diversion via Kattenbachstraße from the "Wißmarer Straße" stop. The "Seemühle" stop on Wetzlarer Straße will also be served. This arrangement applies from the start of service on Friday until the end of service on Sunday.

Line 800 also serves the stops "Wiesenstraße", "Kronzenborner Weg" and "Wißmarer Straße" on its journeys, which start at 10.54 pm and 0.06 am respectively in Krofdorf-Gleiberg. Important to know: On its first journey at 4.55 a.m. on Friday, 25 July 2025, route 800 will still follow its regular route from the "Am Wingert" stop in Krofdorf-Gleiberg.
SWG will be using articulated vehicles to meet the increased demand.

Further information on current diversions and the associated timetable changes can be obtained by calling 0641 708-1400, on the Internet at www.stadtwerke-giessen.de/verkehrshinweise or at the RMV Mobility Centre Giessen in the SWG Customer Centre on Marktplatz. Opening hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 6 pm. SWG can of course also be contacted by e-mail: mobizentrale@stadtwerke-giessen.de
