Beware of dubious representatives
Once again, a man is trying to conclude energy supply contracts using dubious methods.
Giessen. Once again, a salesman is carrying out his obviously dubious business: using false pretences - he pretends to be an employee of Stadtwerke Gießen (SWG) - he is trying to pressure people at the front door to sign an energy supply contract. SWG is now aware of several cases in which the man has asked his potential victims to show him their last bill. He wanted to check them and submit a new, supposedly better offer. "This man is definitely not an employee of SWG," explains Ulli Boos, company spokesperson for SWG.
Never sign contracts at the front door
Based on experience with similar cases, SWG advises caution - especially when unknown persons turn up without prior notification. "Don't give out any bills, never give out personal details or meter numbers and never let anyone into your home," recommends Ulli Boos. Of course, SWG is doing everything in its power to warn people. "As soon as we learn that dubious electricity salesmen are on the loose again, we will inform the public. That's why we are very grateful for every case that those affected tell us about," adds Ulli Boos. There are various ways to do this: by phone on 0800 2302100 (free of charge from all German networks), by email to info@stadtwerke-giessen.de, by WhatsApp to 0151 15213066 or in person at the SWG customer centre on Marktplatz.
