In July, visitors to the beauty and pedicure studio in the Ringallee bathing centre will be treated to a special eye-catcher: Stadtwerke Gießen AG (SWG) is presenting a small art exhibition of watercolours by Heidrun Becker from Treis. The exhibition with more than ten paintings is proof that Heidrun Becker has mastered her craft. Becker has been demonstrating her skills in a wide variety of techniques, especially watercolour painting, for over seven years. Her fondness for her hobby began while she was still at school. But it was not until she attended a charcoal drawing course at the adult education centre in Giessen that her interest was rekindled. Very quickly, watercolour painting became her great hobby. Since 1998, she has regularly attended courses twice a year at the adult education centre under the direction of Elisabeth Jännchen. As most of the course participants have been part of this painting group for years, the group also meets in private to paint. The group not only paints together, but also visits various exhibitions. The Treis woman has already exhibited her paintings at various hobby and creative markets in the region. Her knowledge of watercolour painting is applied to still lifes, landscape painting and floral motifs. The fact that the watercolours are also popular with art lovers is demonstrated by the 150 paintings that the painter has already sold or given away, and anyone who wants to see this art for themselves should not miss the exhibition at the Ringallee bathing centre. Visitors to the beauty centre can admire the exhibits daily during opening hours.
